IN THE BEGINNING...

Life IS Good!

This is a record of how and where the madness began.

I love to hike. I also enjoy history. In the days, weeks, and months(?) to come, I will be recording my history hikes and encounters during those hikes.

Who knows what could come of such things...

I hope to inspire, encourage, excite and entice all who choose to read these accounts.

COME ON! LET'S GET OUT AND GO HIKIN'!

Hiking the Transcontinental Railroad was not my idea of a party, or even good times! A crazy Hiker would rather rattlesnake hunt or travel into the wild, less frequented spaces of the wilderness. Frontier hiking, mountain climbing, frozen tundra to desert heat hiking would be more suitable. I stumbled upon this insane trip by accident and it destroyed what normal life I had left. I can no longer think about backpacking without adding historical places to those thoughts.
